The Hive Celebrates 20 Awards in Five Years

The Hive is celebrating another success this week as it adds a further accolade to its list of awards.

Shining a spotlight on the achievement across the sector, the Archives and Records Association (ARA) Excellence Awards has voted the Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service (WAAS) the 2017 Record-Keeping Service of the Year.

Located within The Hive, WAAS was recognised for both its range and depth of activities as well as its success in placing itself at the heart of the cultural life of Worcestershire.

Dr Lisa Snook, User Services Manager at the Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service, said: “We are delighted by the recognition of our services at The Hive. This award is a testament to the hard work and dedication of our team. Staff do their very best to ensure that all of our customers receive an excellent experience of our service.

“What makes this award particularly meaningful is that the winner is chosen by the votes of customers of archives as well as archive professionals.”

In the approach to its fifth year anniversary, The Hive has achieved 20 awards and has recently celebrated its four millionth visit. We will find out in June if it has also won the Herefordshire and Worcestershire Chamber of Commerce Award for Excellence in Customer Service.

The Hive has been shortlisted or highly commended for 23 awards and won 20, a total of 43 accolades.

The Hive will be celebrating all of its achievements in a special 5th Anniversary exhibition for a week from the 3rd July.
