Regular events for adults

The Hive is host to a number of regular events for adults. Here's a rundown of just a few:

  • New Chapter - Reading Group

    For adults with mild-moderate learning disabilities.

    Fortnightly from Monday 12 September, 10.30am - 11.30am

    The group looks at and discusses picture books designed for adults, with each member encouraged to contribute to the story by interpreting the pictures.  The titles read so far include 'Looking After Your Heart' and 'George Gets Smart'.

    All groups are free to attend and new members are always welcome.

  • Adult Reading Group

    This free to attend readers group meet every third Monday of the month, between 5.30 and 6.30pm in meeting room 3 at The Hive.

    Reading list - September 2016 to July 2017

    No pre-booking is required to attend this event, just drop in and join us.

  • Home Choice Plus Surgeries

    Every Tuesday 9.30am–12pm in The Hub. 

    The Hub also run Licensing Surgeries on Tuesdays 11.30am–1pm and Thursdays 1.30–3pm.  For advice on taxi/private hire licensing and all other licensing issues regulated by Worcestershire Regulatory Services.

  • Crafty Corner

    Every first and third Tuesday of the month.

    From 5.30pm to close.

    Informal knitting, crochet and assorted yarn-based craft group.  No booking required.

  • Health Walks

    Every Wednesday

    Approximately 1 hour walk, slow to medium pace, suitable for all ages Meet inside The Hive at 10.15am. Walk starts at 10.30am. For more information call Lin Tandy 07948 580335

  • IT and Job Seeking Support

    Every Wednesday, 2.30 - 4pm

    Drop in and get support every Wednesday in the main library on level 0.

    The session is able to help support with the following and much more:

    - E-mails - setting up and sending
    - Internet - how to perform a search
    - Printing - the process at The Hive
    - Microsoft Office packages - help with Word, Powerpoint, Excel etc
    - CV and cover letter word processing
    - Assistance seeking jobs online/ JSA online applications
    - Further support for users who have completed the GO ON course.

    During these drop in sessons you can use one of The Hive PC's or alternatively bring along your own laptop or tablet.
